ShushShot privacy policy
Last updated 6 October 2026
The short version: your photos and videos never leave your iPhone. We have no accounts and never see what you cover. The app sends us a few counts, like "a photo was saved", with a random number instead of your identity, so we know it works. We may show ads.
Who we are
ShushShot is an iPhone app made by 123teq LLC ("we"). Questions about this policy: use the contact form.
Your photos and videos
You pick a photo or video with Apple's picker, which gives the app only the item you chose. Finding faces, people and text, and drawing the covers, all happen on your iPhone with Apple's on-device tools. Nothing is uploaded to us or anyone else. When you save, the app only adds the new copy to Photos (it asks for "Add Photos Only" access) and never reads your library. The saved copy is made fresh from the pixels, so it carries no location, time or camera details. When you share, the copy goes wherever you choose to send it.
What the app sends us
To learn whether the app works, it sends our server (config.shovelware.ai) short event records:
- that a photo or video was saved or shared (never the photo or video, or anything in it);
- if ads are shown, that an ad earned money and how much;
- the app version, "ios", and which version of a screen you saw, if we are testing two;
- a random number made by the app when it is first installed, so we can count installs. It is not your Apple ID, your device ID or the advertising identifier, and it isn't linked to you. Deleting the app deletes it.
The app also asks the same server for its settings when it opens. We don't sell or share these records, and we don't use them to track you across other apps or websites.
Advertising
We may show one ad at the bottom of the home screen, provided by Google (Google Mobile Ads / AdMob). Ads never appear while a photo or video is being covered, edited, saved or shared. Ads are not personalised and are muted. When ads are shown, Google may collect information from your device, such as a device identifier, your approximate location from your IP address, and how you interact with the ads, to serve and measure them. This is covered by Google's privacy policy. Where the law requires it, the app asks for your consent first. We never give Google or any advertiser your photos or videos.
Children
The app isn't aimed at children and sends us nothing that identifies anyone.
Your choices
Because nothing we hold is linked to you, there is no account to delete. Deleting the app removes everything it kept on your phone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top of this page.
